The Power of Transformation

It takes a sizable amount of courage and determination to discover and hold up to the light one’s authentic self. Yet, this is our mandate—to metamorphose, to become more, to be. Transformation requires that one radically change. You don’t have to like the process; sometime you may even hate it. Yet true transformation asks us to dig deep, be accountable, and embrace patience.

Who am I really? What is my life’s purpose? What is the over-arching theme of my life? These questions and more

It’s been my experience that whenever I want to make a drastic change in my life, the first three months are excruciating—as if by wearing new shoes, I invite blisters. But once my feet get used to the uncomfortability of the way they wear, they toughen up. And once I am free to enjoy the change in my footwear, I’m a better person (or at the very least, more stylish) for having gone through the pain.

I think the process has to begin with love—loving oneself, loving the person we truly are, and loving our place in the world. If love is in the picture, then transformation can be instantaneous. So, as the meme states: eat clean, trust yourself, make good choices, be patient with yourself and others, work hard, and “all things shall be added unto you.”
